She should change the moniker from "Cat Power" to "Name Dropper." But seriously, I kid, I kid, for I love most of Chan's music.
She played Conan again recently and was most fidgety throughout. She had a brimmed-hat and fucked with it constantly. Then, she took off the hat at the end to give us a different look...a trick she borrowed from Eddie Vedder. What bothered me (especially in light of the crowd banter posted above and her affiliation with TIAA Cref) is that as she removed the headgear, she exhibited immediate concern that her hair may be mussed; she nervously attempted to fix her hair that she imagined to be possibly tousled, managing it along while singing the closing.
She's also fussing with her hair in the pic you posted.
