in certain european countries there's no minimum legal age to drink in private. however, there is a minimum legal age for
buying alcohol and drinking in restaurants, bars, etc... for holland this legal age is 16 for beers and wines (anything that holds up to 20% alcohol) and 18 for liquors (20% alcohol and above). i think it's the same for germany and france and many other european countries, but i know that they have stricter laws in scandinavia and maybe some other countries too. i think in the uk it's 18 for beer.
