Haha yeah. Obviously Jarvis got his whole 'British Observer' thing from the stuff that Paul McCartney and Ray Davies were doing in the 60's (i suppose Blur did too, but that is one band I don't have very much time for). Thats probebly why I like Pulp. You're never quite sure if they had a contempt or a fondness for the 'Britishness' that ran through their songs. I'm not really sure people from outside Britain can appreciate our mixed feelings towards the 'Daily Mail reading, Football watching, Umbrella carrying' everyman that exists in almost every part of our country, lurking behind the curtain carrying out his 'Neighbourhood Watch' obligations while the years slowly pass him by....Dear God thats depressing, need some American music to cheer me up!
