Quinine - a colloquial term to describe a tear in a pair of trousers.
Originated from the town Quinine in North Dakota where bear wrestling was an annual event, "The Quinine Big Bad Bear Bundle".
The women folk would de-bag the men and throw their trousers (or "pants") into a pen where a grizzly bear, unfed for two days, would be resting. The men had to then retrieve the trousers ("pants") whilst wrestling off the starving beast.
You can just imagine the state of the trousers ("pants") at the end of the competition!
