You may know composer and multi-instrumentalist
Weasel Walter as the crazy guy behind the
Flying Luttenbachers, formed in 1991 in Chicago as a trio with free jazz legend
Hal Russell and
Chad Organ. Both the line-up and the music of the Flying Luttenbachers changed dramatically over the years, always moving in the wide field between free jazz, punk, death metal, berserk prog, and composed chaos. He has also been in experimental punk band
XBXRX, no wave noise terrorists
Lake Of Dracula, death-/grindcore misanthropes
Hatewave, free glam noise unit
To Live and Shave in L.A., and many more. If you want to see a long list of good underground and experimental musicians, just check out the list of collaborators on his website.
In May 2003 Weasel Walter did a “Karaoke” show of popular songs in San Francisco, with slightly modified backing tracks, recorded by himself. He also sold a CD-R of this madness, but only at that show, so there are about 10 original copies worldwide. If you have one of those rarities, count yourself lucky, otherwise go ahead, grab the mp3s and listen to them. All the instruments are played by Weasel Walter, and his drug of choice for this session was
Midori liqueur.

Here are the tracks, enjoy the destruction of Paul McCartney, Queen, and Police:
1.
Jet (Paul McCartney)
2.
We Will Rock You (Queen)
3. Bohemian Rhapsody
We Are The Champions (Queen)
4.
Live and Let Die (Paul McCartney)
5.
Roxanne (Police)
6.
Uncle Albert (Paul McCartney)
When you are done listening, get yourself some instruments, recording equipment and a few bottles of Midori, the world needs more fucked-up drunk covers. May I suggest “We Built This City” by Jefferson Starship? OK, maybe you need something stronger than Midori for that atrocity of a “song”.
