Dunno, De Andrč's lyrics are more deep and difficult to understand if you don't know italian pretty well, and his music is less "poppish"..Battisti has definitely a more melodic/international appeal, and you can "enjoy" his music even without understanding a single word, and it's much more easy to translate his lyrics in the more pop tunes ( it's an almost impossible thing to do with De Andrč's albums, since words are by far more important than the music in his work, even if his musical research towards the "roots" of popular traditions and songwriting is really interesting and, to an extent, enjoyable...)...Battiato? Well, he's still alive, you know how those things works.... he he.
