You should also do what I do. Do workout during the day and never the night, and then after the workout and before bed pig out on food. If you eat before bed, it's not burned as fuel so it gets stored into muscle fibre and fat, and by working out it will increase the transition of fat becoming muscle fibre.

And don't drink smoothies. They fill you up too easily and not enough protien. Eat pasta with parmesan cheese and it helps.
