My mother is Italian and was born in Providence, Rhode Island.
She calls a house a "whoose" and a mouse a "moose."
People here in Virginia have a weird southern accent. It's not as pronounced as further south, but many pronounce words like "about" as "a-boot" like some Canadians would.
