Funny that. When XFM got bought out by Capital and moved from Camden to Leicester Square, they put Bob Geldof on as a DJ. It was appalling.
I happened to be walking through Leicester Square one day and foudn myself in the middle of the protest that some devoted listeners had organized.
There was a fairly sizable group of people standing outside the capital FM building, pointing upward (toward the studio where Geldof was presenting) and chanting (football style)
"BOBBBBBB'S A WANKER! HE'S A WANKER! HE'S A WANKER! BOBBBBB'S A WANKER!"
I joined in. It was quite a larf.
I think Russell had been fired from XFM by that point...
