the united states has a history of many great, as well as many shit scenerios. its a cultural melting pot, meaning that people from all over the world have moved here (in the past, as well as presently). theres much to work with...and as a result of all this culture and history many great movements have been started here. many "underground" movements have started here.
wanna talk about mtv? how about discussing the blues that came out of the south oh so long ago that went on to become rock n roll? how about punk rock? no wave? new wave? free-form jazz? what about all the avant/free-form/noise/whatever the fuck ya wanna call it thats been going on, and is REALLLLY going on now?

japan sure as hell has its fair share of shit pop...as well as EVERY FUCKING OTHER COUNTRY.
last i checked mtv is pretty popular in several places throughout the world.

It's not just music. It's this whole mass produced global culture... or "Globo-Corp" as I like to call it. The kids just don't know any better. Can't even dream of a world without Madonna or Axe Body Spray.
