Kevin Ayers is awesome. Listen to "Joy of a Toy"
The Creation are great. Incredible String Band. Bert Jansch. Kaleidoscope and their album "Tangerine Dream"
The Millenium, Laura Nyro, Tyrannosaurus Rex, etc etc etc.

Speaking of Tangerine Dream, the German band by that name did a great album in 1969 called Electronic Meditation. Despite the title and their later descent into near new age synthiness, this is an album full, believe it or not, of distorted noisy guitar electronics. Plus some cool psychy synths too, but that's more to be expected.
