funny, i used to hate 4x4s until i moved to a place at the end of a 5-mile dirt road that is often a) snowy or b) muddy or c) frozen in the shape of a washboard. without a 4x4 you're literally stuck in the mud. so i love them now.

but of course 4x4s for just regular traffic are generally stupid and a waste.
