that usually works out like shit (i've never done it, but i know of a number of cases) because there is a power relation between them-- there's no equality. so it's inherently fucked. it always ends badly.

having said that, susan sontag married her professor when she was, oh, let me see... 10 DAYS after college graduation, when she was 18 (she finished high school at 15), her husband was 28. (they divorced years later though, after they wrote a book and had a child together).

i have to say i would have married sontag even in her deathbed when she was 71... such a wonderful woman... ah, but i digress.
