I can't stand Rosenfeld's stuff, I saw this gig and her schtick is to find the noisey part of a record between songs and then keep dropping the needle on it and processing it. The needle drops in the Tonic PA with a wretched CRACK...she basically adds a lot of ugly noise - Lee was playing with his cord plug a lot on this gig as I recall, fans of harsh ugly noise will look forward to this release. Just not my thing.
Nels plays all this week at the Jazz Standard in NYC, 2-3 sets a night, I'll catch a couple but at $20 a set I have to be picky, plus I want to see Jack Rose and Other Dimensions in Music this week...Nels & Elliott Sharp on Sunday should be hot...
