I never really got into Bad Religion myself, but a lot of my friends swear by them.
I always thought this was a cool shirt:
although I don't think I'd question anyone wearing that, if it was a band that I liked more I might be tempted to say something about the band along with the shirt.
if they then told me they knew nothing that band, I think I'd get pretty snarky.
