actually there are hifi earplugs especially designed for music, ive never seen them though.

my brother drums, and he has special earplugs (made especially for his ears) just so his hearing won't get too bad (it wasn't that good anymore, and he's only twelve.) i'm a bit paranoid about my ears too, try to avoid those earphones you put inside your ears and never play my music too loud. just so i'll be able to still enjoy the music and sounds of the world when i'm old and grey
