I guess it's similar in atmosphere to what St. Patrick's day would be in Ireland/UK.

Unlike most people I had to work, so I didn't have the opportunity to get drunk in public like most people seem to celebrate this holiday. I did have a quick look at some of the freemarkets (it's the one day in the year where anyone can stall out their old junk or anything out on the streets to sell it) and bought a cheap watch with a stopwatch for 2 euros of some chinese guy. Now I can finally check if there's any improvement in my jogging performances.
