Sorry, but I immediately associate hoodies, ball caps, ugly oversized sneakers, etc. with the worst elements of the jock culture that's grown up over the past 20 to 25 years (and which has very little in common with the sports culture of the 1960's and 70's). For me, hoodies and the like conjure up images of extreme machismo, pointless apolitical violence, low culture, and ignorant little middle-class white boys (in men's bodies) who think they can scream racist and sexist expletives left, right and center because they've heard a few dropped-out black gang members-turned-hip-hoppers scream "nigger" and "ho" so often.

And No, I'm not one of those do-gooder "politically correct" types, either. I like my booze, tobacco and a good racy joke as much as the next person. A person just has to know where to draw the line--and be smart about everything; that's the only way to survive and look credible doing so nowadays.
