They made their break during mid to late 90's which was also the time of my pre-teen - teen age. Back then (at the age of 11-13) we used to attend those laser tag games (megazone!), in which you run around in hardboard labyrinths with a gun in yr hand. The usually had voodoo people or something as background music. I suppose they epitomize the whole 90's multimedia / video games / techno buzz, in its neon color hell lameness...
I like how one of their early video has graphics looks like virtua fighter 1 (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Vxm_uYqzzHs).
It's not like I still listen to them, or be interested in them. I might dance to that stuff if I'm drunk enough thought, and I'm not even ashamed.
Prodigies first two albums were awesome, nothing to be ashamed of. So far, I've enjoyed all the Chemical Brothers albums, though I like their first two albums more than the house-ish stuff from surrender onwards.
