synth's instinct is right, but wrongly applied here.

media outlets like fox news often manipulate the language and create euphemisms or stereotypes to present the news in a light that suits them. in spite of their slogan "we report, you decide", their reporting is ideologically loaded, because of their clever manipulation of language.

now, whereas "global warming" sounds like an alarm, "global climate change" has a milder ring to it. however, this is a technically correct term used by scientists. no to worry then.
