Lots of talk about this at work today (I work at a hospital).
I'm not completely surprised by this. Seeing how ER workers operate, especially on the graveyard shift, yields a lot of suspicion on how our hospitals are being managed.
We had something similar happen a year or so ago. An inmate was escorted to the ER from jail, and the staff poked fun at him and his complaints of a stomach ache, (he had been there twice in the same week). He later died of a serious stomach aliment.
