On the one hand, ideally speaking I would never speak to anyone who didn't immediately get that the Shaggs are a better band than anyone else on an entirely empirical, ontological level. However, I live with two people who hate the Shaggs, and most of the people whose company I keep on a frequent basis also hate the Shaggs.

On the other hand, it's not so much about 'tester' records. One of the more interesting thing to do is ask people what the most embarassing record in their collection is. Generally it's something really really good.

I don't generally trust people who have no time for 'silly' music. And this from a Wagner fan with Mahler tendencies.
