Valentine's Day isn't so bad. I believe that debate came up on the board before. Nothing wrong with a bit of sentimentality, it's just being bullied into it on a specific day of the year.
I have to note my objection to greeting cards, though, unless they are homemade. Environmentally wasteful, emotionally empty, economically impractical, and the spawn of an entire cable channel dedicated to morally tyrannical TV movies. Bad Melly, bad!
