Ok, so maybe the Fall gets SOME recognition.

However, as influential as they have been to the history of "alternative" music, I would say that they warrant a bit more attention.

I don't think being on the cover of The Wire close to thirty years after the fact exactly constitutes fame and stardom.

I'm not even a fan of The Fall. I do see a lot of direct and indirect influence on "alternative" music from the 80's to the present that isn't generally recognized as something derived/inspired by Smith & company.
