I love the look and feel of that period (early 50's through to 1970ish). There was no attempt at realism, no "irony" or in-jokes for the adults, and the animation was great.

Along with Fantasia, those three were favorites of mine as a kid. I know what you mean about the look and feel of those movies in particular. I also watched newer ones like Little Mermaid and Aladdin, but the animation to me wasn't special. It looked just like every other animated movie at the time. There was too much emphasis on musical numbers and jokes and it just kind of cheapened the movies for me. I felt like the newer ones were a little too bombastic, whereas the three you mentioned were pretty low-key in tone and color, and didn't rely so heavily on being over-the-top.
