Schizo, as much as I adore you, hunger strikes are absurd.

For one thing, I don't care who you are - you want to self-destructively deprive yourself of food to the point of death, have at it. This makes you an imbecile, and therefore dispensable anyhow. Your threat of suicide by starvation has no impact on me.

Ghandi can toot his pacificist political horn all he likes, but denying yourself a few cheeseburgers does fuck all to solve international conflict. In fact, it does fuck all besides make you cranky, screw your digestion, and give you bad skin. It's a lovely manifestation of principles and all, but in reality, no one gives a good goddamn about your empty stomach when engaged in economic or political combat. Or grounding you, or taking away your cell phone.

Theory is the forgiving portrait of the hopelessly blemished subject of practice.
