i enjoy wax poetics quite a bit. probably the best periodical on soul music ever published. it's not just about soul... but that's the meat of it. the p-funk issue was tops, great interviews with the remaining living members of the original funkadelic. i don't believe sy has ever been in an issue, at least within the last 3 or so years that i've been familliar with it.

wax poetics recently started a label- i think that their first slew of releases are gonnal be hip hop 12" singles... i can't remember who stands out, though. it has a similar vibe to Nature Sounds... or something.
