I don't remember most of the books that I read when I was that age...basically just whatever was on the bookshelf in our classroom at school. I think I read a lot in elementary school, but not as much in junior high. I'm pretty sure I liked "A Wrinkle In Time" a lot, and the other books in that series. I liked adventure books. I think I read "Treasure Island" eight times and finally the librarian at my school just let me keep the book. I also loved Roald Dahl books, especially "Danny, The Champion of the World." If you can find one of his short story collections, I think that would be a good choice. I guess I wasn't so much into the very girly books. Most things I read could appeal to both boys and girls.
