i agree with dream theater.
and yes, a lot of sonic youth "fans" are awful, the ones who buy their albums and go to their shows because of the nirvana connection (and probably don't know sy are still around) or the hipster kids who just like them because it's cool to like them ("thurston moore is so cool! they play cool rock! they are the coolest rock band ever" "why do you say they are cool?" "because they are KEWL man!!!")
yeah, people who go to shows to bitch ("yahh they were good but, the lightning was all wrong, the bass was mixed three dbs lower than it should be and this beer sucks, besides, i know the promoter and he made me PAY to see the show, i mean, i was going to spend those $300 bucks on booze, now i just could drink $4700 worth of drinks, this sucks!") are awful, people who go to shows just to show off the way they are dressed are also shite.
omar rodriguez got technical, i saw the mars volta on the comatorium tour and in between every song he played scales super fast and shit. technical doesn't mean good anyway.
slayer, pantera fans, a lot of shitheads are into them yeah, but most people i encounter in these kind of shows are really cool and friendly. kreator fans...i was kinda shocked to see them named here, they are like the nicest people i know.
manu chao, molotov and cafe tacuba fans are the worst here.
any condecending asshole who thinks he/her is superior because what he/she listens are shit. i would say anyone who listens to the killer, interpol, etc. but those people don't really like or listen to music, so they are not really fans.
