Big Black, obviously, one of my all time favorite bands. My old band RUINHORSE (
www.myspace.com/RUINHORSE) was essentially what we figured Big Black would sound like in the 00's. It's not my favorite Albini band (that'd be Shellac), but I really wish they'd re-release/remaster some of that old shit, because a lot of the rarities have been out of print for years.. I can just see "songs about fucking" remastered with essays and a really good-quality version of "Burning Indian Wife" (songs about fucking-era song and one of my favs). www.soundclick.com/scissorshockI have said this in another thread, but when I went to buy songs about fucking, my mom was standing there, so I didn't say the title.. she didn't care about picking it up after my order came in.. but I couldn't say "Fuck". I guess I've had that album uh... 6 or 7 years now..Now that I'm thinking about it, I tihnk I dig Rapeman a bit more than Big Black.. the only problem with Rapeman obviously being that they weren't around very long.Big Black were a band that really knew how to do covers... "In My House" is one of the best covers ever. And let's not forget their Kraftwerk cover (though bands who cover Kraftwerk almost always end up improving the song).
