I don't know, I think he was hiding in a hole for a good reason. I think the song City Girl is nothing compared to any of the old MBV stuff.

I saw Lost In Translation when I was into the Jesus and Mary Chain and just getting into My Bloody Valentine. At the time, my friends only knew JAMC because of the Pixies cover. So I thought both bands were really obscure at the time, so I was really happy to see them get recognized in film.
