So many people call people they don't like "hipsters" and "elitists"...I've seen a dude wailin' free jazz in the most boring swim trunks and flip-flops from Long's Drugs, and when the local alt-weekly wrote about it, they called him a "hipster." Why? Who could be any less hip than that guy? He was the complete opposite of hip.

Throwing the "hipster" tag around too much makes one look insecure.

I think Realicide is a pretty incredible experience. I saw them here in Sacto with Vankmen, and it was outstanding. Perhaps the very most PUNK thing I've seen all year. And it was on tour with Kevin Shields and Gabbertree...two of the most unpretensious "noise-out-and-have-fun" acts you can ever hope to see. They'd be happy to explain the process of their noisemaking. Very accessible when it comes to sharing.
