i actually missed most of the show myself. i was supposed to be flying out of jacksonville friday evening, but i forgot to allow time for random tropical storms, and got stuck behind an accident three exits from the airport for just long enough to miss my flight. the next flight i could catch put me in san antonio at 4:30 sat afternoon, and i was pulling up at the thunderbird at 10:45 for a show advertised as starting at 10:00 with an opening band. so i was thinking i'd still catch most of the sonic set. turns out they'd pushed the show up to 9:00 because of impending rain, and the opening act only played a 15 minute set, so sonic youth took the stage around 9:20. i basically only caught the encore. damn that water that falls from the sky!!!

my thesis (at the moment, anyway...hehe) is an investigation of the unreasonable (in the sense of foucault's madness and civilization) in architecture. work that originates outside of or overtly resists use value and profit motive. i've been looking at work that exists at the intersection of art and architecture: gordon matta-clark, donald judd, diller + scofidio for example. i friend of mine owns a house in st. augustine that he's going to tear down, and i'm planning on "matta-clarking" it, but i don't want to just cut it in half... i want to do something he might have done, but hasn't already...

i'm not sure which videos you're refering to, but i've been uploading a bunch of my architecture videos to youtube. check them out at

so what kind of websites & videos & shit do you do? i'd like to see them...
