drugs are drugs and they have side effects and in particular, parents should have a right to check what drugs their kids use. would you let kids have secret access to opiate pain killers or anti-depressants?

i think in the mad dash for so-called women's rights regarding birth control and abortion we took away parent's rights to protect the physical safety of their children. abortion is a surgery, birth control is a drug, and both should require parent's consent, as children tend not to be fully aware of the potential consequences of their actions, where as adults tend to have a little bit more experience, they being young once themselves...

its not that kids should not have access to these things, it that they should have their parents ivolved. in particular, why should we promote things which will directly remove parents from the equation, when most problems in teens lives come from bad parenting to begin with?
