well, my wife loves halloween, and i've learned to like it too, and here is why

1) it's a totally pagan holiday with no serious meaning attached to it

2) it is the equivalent to mardi gras outside of louisiana

3) it' all about having fun and get plastered

4) in a culture where death is taboo and everybody has to be nice and sunny, it's an opportunity to take your "dark side" for a stroll.

5) the movies play reruns of "a nightmare before christmas", this year on 3D.
