i highly recommend the wii, being one of the souls lucky 'nough to grab one
before the insane holiday demand. while it isn't the graphically superior
console, it makes up for the lack of flash with fun games. wii sports is
addicting enough without even getting into super mario galaxy, twlight
princess, etc. and the impending super smash bros. brawl! nintendo FTW
pretty much.

the wii goes up even higher in my estimation since its compatible with
gamecube discs. my boyfriend handed over metroid prime and the
zelda collectors edition for my enjoyment and yeah...i had kinda forgotten
how ocarina of time can own ones life.

the only console i would absolutely avoid is the ps3. as you said, way
too expensive.

i don't own an xbox 360, but i have played games on it (either in kiosks or
on others' home systems) and reputation as the ultimate fanboy console
aside, it does have a pretty cool selection of games. i keep hearing and
seeing about the continuing issues with the system freezing up though,
much more than is normal for a console. that's what's kept me from
really wanting one.
