I agree with you that parents probably shouldn't tell their kids there is no Santa Claus. If one tells their children that there is no Santa Claus too early, they pass on a certain cognitive conceit. This could alter their personality and behavior and find the children becoming antisocial know-it-alls at best, or antisocial bullies in the worst case. I think it's the sort of thing that kids usually figure out for themselves when the time comes. And when that occassion eventually arises, parents should try to communicate with their children about the historical origin of Santa Claus in Saint Nicholas. Again, if I had children that asked me outright, I would tell them the truth but let them know that the myth and story of Santa Claus also has cultural value. If another person's kid asked me, I would tell them to please ask their parents or inform their parents about what was inquired.
Although I agree with you on this basic point, a point which is the actual topic subject of this particular thread, I do feel that you're taking some transparent cheap shots at !@#$%! in that last post which make you appear foolish and petulant.
Anyway, writing this is against my better judgement because I'm sure I'm making myself out to be a target once again. And !@#$%! has been sort of an asshole punk to me for a good while now.
What's also reckless are the quotes in your signature. Some of the newer people may not know that you garnered those vitriolic quotations in threads where you were pig-headedly insisted that Bush is above reproach as the greatest president ever, and maintained that you agree with all of the policies of the Bush administration, regarding the measures of Homeland Security and the Iraq War as both necessary and visionary.
And naturally, such an ignorant viewpoint from a wholly brainwashed perspective expressed by yourself inspired some ire. And the outrage manifested itself in the quotes. Provided you are not a complete moron, you know as much yourself, but apparently you can't be bothered with any sort of human decency. So, you proudly display the quotations completely out of context. And some of the quotes are even from the old Sonic Youth message board. If I had obsessively kept tabs on all the daft and impulsive things you have written over the years, there would be a lot more material than just a few hotheaded quotes.
