It seems obvious enough to any thinking person what exactly is going on with Dubai. World's tallest building? Here's another "world's largest": Dubai City is a huge money-laundering operation, probably the world's largest money-laundering operation. And any thinking person should know what I implying. And any unthinking person will dismiss this message as so many unfounded theories.

At any rate, the leader of the UAE is also the leader of the state of Dubai and Dubai City. <I have removed his name from this post.> He is worth fourteen billion. When the CBS newsmagazine program 60 Minutes did a segment on him months ago he claimed that he goes about his business in Dubai unarmed and unescorted by security. Of particular note during the interview was that they were standing in a posh neighborhood in which none of the houses or villas had any residents. The properties had owners, but no residents. In fact, just about anywhere cameras went during the piece, you couldn't see any considerable population of people for such a large metropolis.

Even at a cursory glance, it strikes one immediately that Dubai City seems to embrace many Western concepts that are taboo to so many Muslims.
I have heard about the new tower, and it is obviously being built as an affront. Again, any thinking person should know what I'm implying.

Aside from the skyscrapers and the strip, another remarkable feature of the city is the group of small islands for rent that has been constructed to resemble a map of the world.

And of course, as many will no doubt remember, U.S. port security was almost handed over to a Dubai company by the Bush/Cheney adminstration.
