In any case, I have gotten to play two shows with them, and they were very good at those shows (this was around the time of the first LP) and definitely nice people as well. Original? No, but I don't care. BJM are erratic live, and either fantastic or (more often in my experience) a trainwreck. BRMC were pretty consistent. The only thing that baffled me about them was trying to understand how a two-hour soundcheck was necessary for a three piece rock trio.
