Objectification can be shorthand for broad generalities, by the way - it's not in and of itself a terrible thing. For instance - calling someone a racist is objectifying them, and perpetuates the binary opposition that makes racism a black and white issue.

wow? so only "minorities" are allowed to challenge the social construction of racism even though it is whites that invented it? that doesn't make anysense at all. and your circular argument against objectifying racists is silly and a cop-out.
it is important to vocalize and speak out against our own ignorance and yes, racism, because people do not speak out these things, and forget they even exist. I am sorry if you are limited in your experience with other races, but racism is no joke, it is real and a problem that remains to be solved. so lets solve it, seriously. by talkig about it first, and then acting upon the generated discussion and ideas, otherwise we just allow it to continue on forever, you know slavery lasted for four hundred years because people were affraid to challenge the status quo of the societies in which they lived, or even worse, because they had no experience at all with the issue, and lived in a hear no evil see no evil kind of world. well my friends, the world is much bigger then what individual and limited perspectives can show.
