wow, this is a topic I was thinking about the whole fucking day. it's a very fragile balance the one we live. I totally understand you phoenix. I can't really say I have no friends but I know the feel. the persons I feel closest to my heart live far away from here (besides my girl, luckily for me). and with recent happenings making me distrust in potential "friends" it's hard to say I'll ever make new friends again.
it all depends on your inner mood tho. try and stay open to new things without having to disclose your soul a lot and ending up with a broken heart.
hard to do you know but I say bonding is always a bit of a dangerous thing. just try and stay entertained, fulfill your dreams in your own special way.
