shit i didn't know there were seven books now!

i read the entire gunslinger series twice - once in 1989 when it consisted of 2 books and once in 1992 when it was a trilogy!

it was good. i don't remember any obvious cliffhanger, i thought every thing was already wrapped up... it seemed like a good trilogy. what's the deal - he turns into a worm, lives thousands of years ruling the universe and filling up more and more books with increasinly boring tales of worminess?
