lets not make this a huge discussion about the pros and cons of different types of machine.

buzzo needs to know what he wants to use it for, sampling and recording is incredibly broad as a description. when buying or building a computer for audio it needs to be spec'd appropriately . things like how much ram the os needs to run for a start, then how much ram the recording software needs to run, how much ram the sampling software needs to run, how much ram the plugins need, will the sampling software be rewiring into the recording software.

os ram + rec ram + sampling ram + plugins ram = the amount needed minimum, then for rewiring I would double it all.

then we have two 7200rpm (or faster) hard disk drives
