Yeah - there's a bunch of cool place around town.
I do the Pony, Ding Dong, and The Laundry mostly. It's weird - I haven't been in Bimbo Deluxe since the old days when it was The Punters. I've done the cocktail bars a couple of times.
I haven't checked out any new places in a while.
You've caught me out on those bands though. Obviously, I've heard of Jesus&Mary Chain (my friend's got Psychocandy) and I don't mind them. But as for Modest Mouse and er.. Flogging Molly - I can't say that I've familiar with them. I'll suss 'em out on the net. Shit! I haven't checked Beat or Impress in a couple of weeks, so I feel out of the loop (or at least more so than usual).
I suppose I'm always up for a gig. A friend of mine got me to go see Lee 'Scratch' Perry once and also George Clinton - and these were two of the best shows I've ever seen.
