re: no american man should wear jeans :

not necessarily true. jeans are kind of like an equalizer in fashion and there IS a pair for everyone out there (save for those of us who weigh 500 lbs which is just a given.) but MOST people DO NOT KNOW HOW to wear jeans properly. the thing about english fashion as opposed to american fashion is that the brits wear what they want to wear and what is suited to them, whereas americans wear what's "in style" at the time and dress for comfort, be it ugg boots or leggings or whatever.

re: denim shorts
i don't think men should wear shorts PERIOD, EVER. but denim shorts suck on men. and women should not wear shorts that extend too far beyond the crotch area..."hot pants" length only. and it goes without saying not to wear them if you're fat.
short shorts on skinny women.
no shorts on men.

other than that i don't have too many rules.
