I second this. My first guitar was this guitar exactly (except blue and white). The neck is very easy on the hands and has a nice thin profile. The sound is top notch for the price and it's not complicated. I paid $150 for mine around 4-5 years ago.

As for amp, I say Fender Frontman 15 (Reverb or without), about $100. Great small amp (solidstate, tube is for those who know what they're doing (I don't own a tube amp), plenty of power and solid tone for a beginner.

Edit: damn, I should read the threads before I post. SuchFriends just posted my rig entirely (I actually OWN the 25R and it's damn good). I say buy what I have.

(after a few years, some repairs, some half-assed painting, some stickers and markers, it turns into this)
