Things like whatever you're talking about are far too important to let slide. If you just left it, then another thing much like whatever you're talking about could happen again, and consequently, more thing after that of the nature of the initial thing you were talking about, whatever it was. If you don't get a grip on whatever the situation is, you'll never have a grip on the thing that you're talking about, and you want to be in control of whatever that is, don't you? The thing is, whatever the thing you're talking about is, you'll regret doing or not doing something to take control of whatever the situation is or isn't more if you do or don't let it slide, whichever negates or undermines the former.

I say definitely do something about whatever the thing is that you're talking about, and I think you'll find my argument water-tight.
