i think it's a bit absurd how the nyt calls the criminal "mr." "the asshole" would be more appropriate.

but fuck, poor woman-- this is sad, horrible, yet slightly funny because of the ridiculousness of it-- what some people would call an "ironic" ending to this trip. of course "funny" only from a safe & detached distance. i don't want to think about it and feel sad.

lesson to peaceniks: use your brains, and pack a pistol.
