ok here is the problem with "free tickets" Im sure it's common sense but maybe it bears pointing it out, anything that's free you get a fuckload of people lining up just because it's an EVENT. Case in point- 77 Drummers last year.

This Battery Park 4th of July show, which they do every year, if I remember right past few years you have to register on the website and then go down to WFC to pick up your tickets. You think a lot of people went who didnt give a fuck about who was playing but just because it seemed like a fun day out on the 4th? And conversely, lot of people (SY fans?) are gonna get shut out. Also if you're coming out of town, you're shut out. Unless you are gonna go to WFC at some earlier date just to pick up your tickets. And capacity here is not huge, maybe 500-800? Im not sure.

Ok maybe I will leave it at that, maybe this year they will have different way of distributing tickets. Anyway, I would suggest if you really want to go, keep checking that river to river site often.
