If Romero didn't come up with NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD in '68, all of the horror flicks that matter (and that you seem to be enjoying) wouldn't be around. Carpenter, Cronenberg, Hopper, Craven, Raimi to mention a few of those influenced.
Oh, and all this whining couples so well with all of the whiney fuckers going around with the bullshit regarding SY supposedly selling out and sounding dull with all their latest releases.
I can't see what's the problem with all this. Romero is STILL out there making a statement about how he feels about society today. Which is everything the rest of cinema isn't doing these days.
Easy for me to think that you can't dig into social commentary 'cuz your probably busy "playing nintendo until the whole thing blows over".
